Our Mission

The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to make disciples of all people by sharing the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as personal Savior, uniting with His remnant Church, discipling to serve the Lord, and preparing for His soon return.
Our Vision
To take the gospel of salvation seasoned with grace to people in New Market, Alabama and beyond.
Our Goals
1. To reach converts for Christ.
2. To disciple converts for Christ.
3. To strengthen the fellowship of believers in Christ.

Seventh-day Adventist Beliefs

Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events.

Our History

Abundant Life SDA Church (ALSDAC) was born of the Holy Spirit, where Christ continues to serve as the Chief Cornerstone. The church has built its foundation on love, prayer and fellowship in Jesus Christ, which served as the sustaining power when faith was tested.

ALSDAC opened its doors to worshippers on Sabbath, October 4, 2008. Wednesday evening prayer meeting was added later and subsequently changed to Tuesday evenings to facilitate three situations. First, it facilitated hosting a community-based bible study class versus the traditional prayer meeting. Secondly, it provided the opportunity for those who wanted to attend prayer meeting service at First Seventh Day Adventist Church (FSDAC) to do so. Finally, it allowed Drake State Community and Technical College to offer GED classes to the community at the facility.

ALSDAC built its ministry on the power of prayer and fellowship. Every first Sabbath, after fellowship dinner, the body of believers would gather for prayer. There were countless evidences to answered prayer. However, two notable answers to prayer led to the purchase of the ALSDAC van and television monitor. The first started when Elder Naomi Barton, at one of the prayer sessions, announced that she saw a van and had claimed it by faith. The team joined her in prayer. Before the following Sabbath, Pastor Benjamin Jones Jr. informed the group that an anonymous sponsor donated $10,000.00 to the group for the purchase of a van. The van was acquired that very week and Isaiah 65:24, “Before you call I will answer…, was realized. The second remarkable testimony to the fulfilment of God’s amazing promise was another prayer request from the group for a flat screen television monitor to enhance the worship service. The group expected to acquire the monitor within a couple of months, but that was not God’s plan. The following Sabbath, someone left $900.00 in a Bible that provided the funds for the purchase of the television.

Outreach Activities

ALSDAC’s outreach activities have included house to house visitation by knocking on doors three Sabbaths per month, distributing tracks, praying with residents, and conducting surveys of families’ needs. ALSDAC also partnered with the Food Valu Supermarket to host its first Health Screening and Nutrition Fair, followed by an eight-week health seminar facilitated my Paula and Curtis Eakins. The effort resulted in two baptisms. Other outreach activities conducted included a Stop Smoking Clinic, Community Story Hour, community choir, Bible Bowl team, cooking classes, Vacation Bible School, health fairs and a community garden. During the April 2011 tornadoes, ALSDAC responded to the needs of Saddle Creek Community residents by hosting a cookout to provide food for the residents. Other ministries were added as additional congregants joined the ALSDAC team. Elder Oliver and Mrs. Jacquelyn Shipe introduced the Helping Hands Ministry that continues to provide staple food to residents on the first Sunday of each month. The Shipes were also instrumental in engaging the Huntsville Public Library Book Mobile to serve the community.

Many Bible studies were also conducted from the work of Elder Naomi Barton, who connected with community members in their homes; and Elder Nurse using his place of business, ADVENT AUTO as a ministry outpost. Materials used included: the Amazing Facts Basic and Advanced Series, Prophecy of Hope Series, and the New Beginnings DVD Series.

Church Growth ministries were conducted by Pastor James Caldwell in 2010, Pastor Benjamin Jones Jr. in 2011, Pastor Debleaire Snell in 2012, Elders John Bailey and Harrison Nurse in 2013, and Pastor Alexander Lampkin in 2016.
